On all the IFS vehicles the max spring lift height is between 3" and 4"
When you go over the 4" lift range, you run into other problems, CV get maxed out, steering knuckles hit the struts at ride height, you can not get a good front end alignment.
To go higher then 4" on an IFS vehicle you need a cradle drop or K frame drop and new extended steering knuckles, these kits use the factory geometry upper control arms.
Example: Jeep Grand Cherokee & Commander
Before I can say the JBA UCAs (upper control arms) will fix the clearance between your strut and steering knuckle, we need to look at the ride height of your vehicle.
18.50” center of wheel to underside of fender flare is stock ride height.
21.00” center of wheel to underside of fender flare is a 2.5” lift kit.
22.50” center of wheel to underside of fender flare is a 4” lift kit.
The JBA UCAs will not work on spring lift or leveling kits over 4" of lift or 22.50” center of wheel to underside of fender flare.
